Seminar Room

Department of Neurosciences Seminar Room  

The Neuroscience Seminar Room is located on the sixth floor of the Medical School in room E609. It is used for a variety of departmental functions including seminars, journal clubs, classes, and luncheons. Although outside departments are welcome to use the space, departmental needs take priority.

Equipment

The facility counts with professional equipment to deliver your presentations conveniently. The mobile part of the equipment will be kept at the administrative office, Gina Schon (x6252). Please make sure to check out the right equipment for your presentation on time. After your presentation is finished please return the checked out items to the administrative office.

1. Projector

A Nec LT30 digital projector for media presentation, including power point presentations from Mac OSX, PCs, and Unix laptops.

Notes:

  1. Use the projector’s remote controller to turn it on and off.
  2. Be gentle with the settings of the projector, they have been optimized for the conditions of the room.
  3. Return the remote controller when you finish your presentation.
  4. Please set your laptop to 1024×768 screen resolution before plugging in the projector to avoid synchronization problems.

2. Presenter (radio transmitter)

A Logitech cordless remoter presenter to control lap top presentations remotely. USB compatible with Mac OSX, PCs and Unix laptops. Radio transmission. Includes laser pointer.

Notes:

  1. The usb receiver is kept on the back of the presenter, attach it to your computer before using the presenter.
  2. Turn the presenter on. The on/off switch is on the left top side of the presenter.
  3. Turn off the presenter and return both pieces when you finish your presentation.
  4. This device is currently lost. We are trying to replace it.

3. Presenter (infrarred transmitter)

An alternate Keyspan cordless remote presenter to control legacy lap top presentations remotely. USB compatible with Mac OSX, old Mac OSX, PCs and Unix laptops. Infrared transmission. Includes laser pointer.

Notes:

  1. To activate the laser pointer press the blue and white buttons together until the white button blinks red. The laser will auto shut off after 30 minutes of no use.
  2. Attach the usb receiver to your computer before using the presenter.
  3. Return both pieces when you finish your presentation.

4. Sound System

Professional sound system with remote microphone.

Notes:

  1. You have to use two switches to turn on the remote microphone.
  2. Turn off both switches and return the microphone when you finish your presentation.

5. Slide Projector

Kodak Ektographic III slide projector for 35mm slide presentations.

6. VCR

A JVC Super VHS ET that may be linked if necessary to the room projector.
