Neurolucida 3D Reconstruction

Neurolucida tracing courtesy of the Strowbridge lab

The Neurolucida 3D reconstruction and stereology system is located in the Neuroscience Imaging Center, room E632g. It is based on a Zeiss Axioplan upright microscope with a high-resolution motorized stage and is designed to facilitate three-dimensional reconstructions of neurons filled with either fluorescent or opaque dyes. In addition, this system offers a separate stereology package that allows the user to estimate cell number and morphological properties of 3D structures from 2D data (e.g. images, thin sections, or multiple serial sections). Please contact Maryanne Pendergast at 368-2575 for additional information.
