VersaDoc Gel Imaging System
The Bio-Rad model 3000 VersaDoc Gel Imaging System is designed to capture and analyze digital images from a wide range of samples, including gels, blots, autoradiograms, TCL plates and microplates. The system is located in the main lab of the Neuroscience Imaging Center, room E632, and is able to detect and quantify standard nucleic acid and protein specific stains as well as chemiluminescent, chemifluorescent, colorimetric, and fluorescent samples. Both Quantity One, the standard analysis software package, and PD Quest, the software for 2D-gel analysis, have been installed on several computers in the department. - Camera module 3000 cooled CCD camera.
- Trans illuminator.
- Pair of UV EPI illuminators.
- Pair of white light EPI illuminators.
- 50mm, F1.4 fixed focal length lens for chemiluminescence applications.
- 28-80mm zoom lens for fluorescence and colorimetric applications.
- Eight position filter wheel permitting the detection of numerous standard fluorescent dyes.
