The Bio-Rad model 3000 VersaDoc Gel Imaging System is designed to capture and analyze digital images from a wide range of samples, including gels, blots, autoradiograms, TCL plates and microplates. The system is located in the main lab of the Neuroscience Imaging Center, room E632, and is able to detect and quantify standard nucleic acid and protein specific stains as well as chemiluminescent, chemifluorescent, colorimetric, and fluorescent samples. Both Quantity One, the standard analysis software package, and PD Quest, the software for 2D-gel analysis, have been installed on several computers in the department.
